### Summary
The All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has issued Circular No. 30/13/2026/46 to inform members about its active participation in the National Convention of Workers and Farmers held at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. The convention was jointly organized by ten Central Trade Unions (CTUs) and farmers’ organizations under the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM).
The gathering culminated in a resounding call to strengthen the unity between workers, farmers, students, and youth against what they characterize as anti-worker and anti-farmer policies. ### Key Demands & Action Plan
The united forum overwhelmingly adopted a comprehensive declaration focusing on protecting livelihoods, democratic rights, and national economic interests. The core demands include:
* **Labour & Wage Protections:** Complete repeal of the four new Labour Codes, guaranteed trade union rights, and the implementation of a statutory minimum wage of ₹42,000 linked to dearness allowance. * **Agricultural Reforms:** Guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) at C2+50% alongside assured procurement.
* **Economic Strategy:** A halt to privatization and the National Monetisation Pipeline 2.0, robust opposition to
anti-worker/anti-farmer Foreign Trade Agreements (FTAs), and the restoration and fortification of MGNREGA.
* **Social Safeguards:** Expanding social security, creating employment, and strengthening public education, healthcare, and the Public Distribution System.
**Upcoming Protests:** As an immediate action plan, the Convention has called for **nationwide protests on 10 August 2026** (commemorating the Quit India Movement). These actions will include district and state-level demonstrations, rail roko, rasta roko, and workplace protests to press the government on these critical demands.

### **National Convention of Workers and Farmers Resolves to Intensify Coordinated and United Struggles Against Anti-People Policies**
The National Convention of Workers and Farmers, jointly organised by the Central Trade Unions (CTUs), Sectoral Federations and
Associations, along with the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) concluded today at the Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi packed with sea of working people and farmers. The convention gave out a resounding call to strengthen the unity of workers, farmers, students, youth and all democratic sections of society in defence of livelihoods,
constitutional rights and national interests. Marking a new chapter in this struggle for dignity, democracy, equality and justice the massive gathering sent a strong message that when the workers and farmers unite, they make a massive force to reckon with.
Talkatora stadium was busting out of its seams with the participation of thousands of workers from every sector of the economy. Industrial workers, public sector employees, transport workers, bank and insurance employees, teachers, government employees, scheme workers, unorganised workers of all activities including piece rate workers, gig and platform workers, women workers, youth, pensioners etc., joining hands with farmers from across the country. Undeterred determination of the working people and farmers to resist anti-worker, anti-farmer and pro-corporate policies was determinedly demonstrated among the participants.
A joint presidium representing all the CTUs and SKM conducted the proceedings. The Presidium members from CTUs included Amit
Yadav-INTUC, Mohan Sharma-AITUC, Raja Shridhar-HMS, Sudip Dutta-CITU, Samar Sinha-AIUTUC, Jyoti Ranjan MahapatraTUCC, Ashaben-SEWA, Sucheta De-AICCTU, J Vijayakumar-LPF, R.S. Dagar-UTUC and those from SKM were Satheesh Azad (KKU), Umesh Singh (AIKM), Ravula Venkaih (AIKS), Ashok Dhawle (AIKS), Shankar Ghosh (AIKKMS), SSV Satyanarayan (AIKMS), Yudhvir Singh BKU (Tikait), Simran Singh BKU (Ugrahan), K. Rangga (AIUKS).
The speakers from CTUs included Ashok Singh-INTUC, Amarjeet
Kaur-AITUC, Harbhajan Singh Sidhu-HMS, Elamaram Kareem-CITU, Hari Prakash- AIUTUC, K Induprakash Menon-TUCC, Lata Ben-SEWA, Rajeev Dimri-AICCTU, V. VeluswamyLPF, Shatrujeet Singh-UTUC and those from SKM included Avatar Singh Mehma (KKU), Satyavan (AIKKMS), Vijoo Krishanan (AIKS, Canning Lane), Purushottam Sharma (AIKM), Rajan Kshirsagar (AIKS, Ajoy Bhawan), Raminder Singh Patiala (AIKMS), Joginder Singh Ugrahan (BKU-U), Rakesh Tikait (BKU-Tikait), Dr. Sunilam (KSS), Joginder Singh, Govind Raj, Karnail Singh Ikolaha (AISKS), Ashok Baitha (AIKMKS).
All speakers rose in unison against the anti-people policies of the government. They highlighted the deepening economic crisis, rising unemployment, unprecedented price rise, privatisation of public sector enterprises and public services, attacks on trade union rights through the Labour Codes, the neglect of farmers’ demands, against the damaging foreign trade agreements, shrinking democratic space, and increasing attempts to divide the people on communal, caste and other sectarian lines. They emphasised that only apart from fighting from their respective organisations and fronts, a broad and united movement of workers, farmers and all democratic forces can effectively defend the Constitution, protect livelihoods and safeguard India’s secular and democratic character.
The Convention unanimously adopted a comprehensive declaration reiterating the demands to repeal the four Labour Codes, guarantee trade union rights, restore labour protections, ensure a statutory minimum wage of ₹42,000 linked to dearness allowance, guaranteed MSP at C2+50% with assured procurement, No to anti-farmer, anti-workers Foreign Trade Agreements (FTA), stop privatisation and the National Monetisation Pipeline 2.0, restore and strengthen MGNREGA, expand social security, create employment, strengthen public education and healthcare, defend the Public Distribution System, withdraw draconian laws, and protect constitutional and democratic rights etc.
The declaration also resolved to intensify coordinated struggles of workers and farmers across the country. As part of the immediate programme of action, the Convention called for nationwide protests on 10 August 2026, commemorating the Quit India Movement, through district and state-level demonstrations, rail roko, rasta roko, workplace protests, human chains and other forms of peaceful mass mobilisation. It also resolved to organise joint state-level conventions, decentralised Mahapadavs and prepare for larger nationwide direct-action programmes if the demands remain unaddressed.
The convention sent a powerful, united message to strengthen workers’-farmers’ unity and intensify the struggle to confront the government that is increasingly becoming authoritarian in its character. The historic event concluded with a powerful pledge to further strengthen the unity of workers and farmers, expand solidarity with democratic movements, and carry forward the struggle for a society based on equality, justice, secularism and social progress.
The Convention concluded on a triumphant note, reaffirming the unwavering determination of India’s working people to strengthen their unity and intensify the struggle. With renewed resolve, the
participants pledged to carry the movement forward until their demands are achieved. The message was loud and clear- “Unite, Organise and fight – Unity will be ours”
