New record – More than 1,16,000 tweets – Congrats

As part of our agitational programme on our demand for adequate
recruitment in the Banks and against outsourcing of our permanent jobs,
today we undertook the first phase of twitter campaign. Our campaign
started at 8-00 am with the hashtag #2LakhBankJobs.
Right from the morning, the campaign picked up with enthusiastic
response from our unions and members. Our young cadres were
particularly very active in the campaign which helped us to take the
campaign to a high pitch by around 11 am. It was heartening to observe
tweets even by very senior comrades.
Around 1-30 pm, the tweets crossed 1,00,000. By the time the campaign
ended in the afternoon, the total tweets and posts had crossed
1,16,000 thus creating a new record in our twitter campaign
organised so far by AIBEA.
We got reports that in many centres and stations, our units organised war
rooms from where the campaign was undertaken in a collective manner.
Many lady comrades were found to be active in the programme.
We also observed that lot of tweets were made with wrong hashtags and
hence they were not added in the count. Otherwise, it would have been
more than 1,25,000 tweets.
Comrades, our struggle is going to be a long-drawn struggle. Our
agitational programmes have to taken to each and every member of all our
Unions. While we thank and congratulate all our unions and members for
the successful programme today, we urge upon all of you to ensure further
momentum in our ensuing programmes.
